KPV Dosage Protocols

KPV dosing in research varies by route of administration. The tripeptide is studied subcutaneously, orally, and topically, with each route targeting different applications.

RouteDoseFrequencyPrimary Application
Subcutaneous200–500 mcgOnce dailySystemic anti-inflammatory
Oral200–500 mcg1–2× dailyGut inflammation
TopicalApplied to area1–2× dailySkin inflammation

Most subcutaneous research protocols use 200–500 mcg once daily. The lower end (200 mcg) is commonly used as a starting point, with some protocols increasing to 500 mcg based on response.

Reconstitution & Preparation

KPV typically comes as a lyophilized powder in vials of 2mg or 5mg. Standard reconstitution with bacteriostatic water (BAC water) applies:

  • 2mg vial + 2mL BAC water = 1mg/mL (1,000 mcg/mL) — each 0.25mL (25 units on an insulin syringe) delivers 250 mcg
  • 5mg vial + 2mL BAC water = 2.5mg/mL (2,500 mcg/mL) — each 0.1mL (10 units) delivers 250 mcg

Use the peptide calculator for exact volumes based on your vial size. For step-by-step reconstitution, see the reconstitution guide.

Timing & Cycle Length

KPV does not have strict timing requirements relative to meals, unlike some peptides affected by insulin levels. Research protocols typically run 4–8 weeks, with some gut health studies extending to 12 weeks.

  • Subcutaneous: Any time of day; some protocols prefer morning dosing
  • Oral: Often taken on an empty stomach to reduce degradation in the GI tract, though nanoparticle formulations may reduce this concern
  • Topical: Applied directly to inflamed skin areas after cleaning

No loading phase or taper is typically used in published protocols. Effects on inflammatory markers have been observed within the first week of use in animal studies.

Storage

Follow standard peptide storage practices:

  • Lyophilized (unreconstituted): Store at -20°C for long-term, or 2-8°C (refrigerator) for up to several months
  • Reconstituted: Refrigerate at 2-8°C. Use within 28 days of reconstitution
  • Avoid freeze-thaw cycles with reconstituted solution
  • Protect from light and heat

For complete storage guidelines, see the peptide storage guide.
